Job Description

QUALIFICATION:
 

  • Specialization of the “Professional Qualified Medical Assistant”
  • This profession can only be practiced after completing the legally prescribed training
  • Professional activities are based on the legally prescribed training content

Uniform regulations for training, vocational education, and the field of activity of medical assistants are set out in the "Medical Assistant Professions Act" throughout Austria.
Training at Vocational middle or Vocational high schools for medical assistant professions in module combinations (availability depends on the school).
2,500 Hours of training duration - different training duration for assistant occupations & not all combinations possible - dual training (practical & theoretical)

Educational options: 

At least 3 training courses in medical assistant professions or
1 training course in nursing assistance PLUS at least one training course in a medical assistant profession or
1 training course as a medical masseur PLUS at least one training course in a medical assistant profession

Training courses options: 

Disinfection assistant 
Plaster casting assistant
Laboratory assistant 
Autopsy assistant 
Operating room assistant
Practice assistant 
X-ray assistant 

Completed training as an X-Ray Technician, Radiographer (MTRA), X-Ray Assistant, or a comparable imaging specialist

ACTIVITIES:
* Performing radiological examinations (X-rays, fluoroscopy if necessary) and, if necessary, supporting imaging procedures within the scope of the qualification
* Operation, calibration, and regular maintenance of X-ray equipment; ensuring image quality
* Patient preparation, explanation, positioning, and documentation of findings in accordance with regulations
* Collaboration with physicians, medical assistants (MFAs/MTAs), and technical staff
* Ensuring hygiene, safety, and data protection standards
* Organizing the examination process, quality management, and participating in emergency response
