QUALIFICATION:
Education: 3 years at technical schools or 5 years at higher technical institutions in “Mechanical Engineering” or “Metallic Materials Technology”

Metallic Materials Technology – Key curriculum topics – only offered in Eisenstadt:

Further knowledge: CAD (Computer Aided Design) Technology / CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) Technology / Welding Technology
Practical experience: School-owned workshops and laboratories as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies 
Educational option:
1 - Metal Technician – Welding Technology -> Apprenticeship

Completed vocational training as Welder / Welding Technician or comparable qualification

ACTIVITIES:
* Planning, preparation and execution of welding processes (gas-shielded arc welding, TIG, MIG/MAG, etc.) according to technical drawings and standards
* Determination of welding parameters, equipment settings, and quality assurance of welded joints
* Pre- and post-processing of components (grinding, deburring, cleaning, checking fits)
* Performing welding and visual inspections and documenting welding data
* Participation in the qualification of welding processes (PQRs, WPS) and repair or rework
* Maintenance, calibration and servicing of welding equipment, measuring and test gauges
* Compliance with safety, environmental, and occupational health standards
* Collaboration with production, quality assurance, and development
