QUALIFICATION: 
Education: 3 years at technical schools or 5 years at higher technical institutions in "Mechanical Engineering", particularly with a focus on "Manufacturing Technology"
Subjects: Design & Project Management / Technical Mechanics & Calculations / Manufacturing & Production Technology / Machinery & Equipment / Automation Technology / Tool Making / Fixture Construction / Handling Technology 
Further knowledge: CAD (Computer Aided Design) Technology / CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) Technology / Welding Technology 
Practical experience: School-owned workshops and laboratories as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies
Educational options: 
1 - Manufacturing Measurement Technician -> Apprenticeship
2 - Mechatronics Technician -> Apprenticeship 

Completed technical training as Machining Operator / Industrial Mechanic / Mechatronics Engineer / Production Mechanic or comparable qualification

ACTIVITIES: 
* Ensuring production activities in manufacturing (assembly, machining, quality control) according to work plans
* Performing setup, adjustment, and adjustment of machines and production systems
* Performing commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production-related equipment
* Optimization of production processes (increasing productivity, reducing scrap, and reducing lead times) using methods such as SMED and Kaizen
* Supporting capacity planning, workplace design, and material flow
* Documenting production processes, test results, and maintenance reports ; preparation of reports
* Collaboration with work planning, quality assurance, maintenance, and external service providers
* Implementation of safe occupational health and safety and environmental protection standards (DGUV, DIN/VDE standards)
* Collaboration in projects for the automation, modernization, and digitalization of production
